Embracing the Power of a Unique Perspective
In a world that often values conformity, David Gurwitz is a champion of neurodiversity. He believes that mental differences like Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) are not deficits but gifts, sources of immense creativity, and unique perspectives that can enrich the world. As someone who identifies as having ADD, David has spent his life learning to harness the power of his own unique mind, and he is passionate about helping others to do the same.

Neurodiversity and Creativity: The Gift of a Different Mind
The Creative Advantage
David argues that many of the traits that are often associated with ADD—such as a non-linear thought process, a tendency to hyper-focus on things that are of interest, and a constant stream of new ideas—are the very same traits that are found in many of the world’s most successful CEOs, innovators, and artists.
He believes that instead of trying to “fix” these traits with medication, we should be creating environments that nurture them, such as specialized schools and workplaces that are designed to accommodate and celebrate different ways of thinking.
A Natural Approach
David is a strong advocate for natural alternatives to medication, such as prayer, meditation, and creative expression as well as exercise, vitamins, and minerals.
He believes that these practices and substances can be powerful tools for managing the challenges of ADD while still allowing the individual to access the incredible creative potential of their unique mind.
His own music is a testament to this philosophy, a product of a mind that is constantly exploring, connecting, and creating in its own unique way.
The Conversation
This page will be a place for conversation and community, a place where we can explore the intersection of neurodiversity and creativity. We will feature articles, interviews, and resources for individuals with ADD and other mental differences, as well as for their families, educators, and employers.
We will celebrate the successes of neurodiverse individuals and work to create a world that is more accepting and accommodating of all ways of thinking.
