Using Music to Amplify a Message

For David Gurwitz, a performance is more than just an opportunity to share his music; it is an opportunity to make a difference. Throughout his career, he has generously donated his time and talent to a wide range of charitable organizations, using his music to raise awareness, to inspire action, and to bring comfort and joy to those in need.

Charitable Performances: A Stage for Giving

A History of Giving

From intimate performances in children’s cancer centers to large-scale benefit concerts, David has a long and rich history of using his music to support causes that he believes in. This page will feature a gallery of images and stories from some of these performances, including:

  • The Special Olympics Connecticut Concert (2009): A landmark performance where David dedicated his song “Hear the Children” to the athletes.

  • Children’s Cancer Center Concerts: Moving performances in a therapeutic setting, bringing comfort and joy to young patients and their families.

  • Benefit Concerts for Local Charities: A variety of performances to support local community organizations and non-profits.

The Power of Music

David believes that music has a unique power to touch the heart, to open the mind, and to inspire action. He has seen firsthand how a single song can bring a room to tears, how a benefit concert can raise thousands of dollars for a worthy cause, and how a simple melody can bring a moment of peace to someone who is suffering. It is this belief in the power of music to make a difference that drives his commitment to charitable performance.
